Ms. Saban is an ordinary woman with a Buddhist background whose life has been transformed through the work of KADRA, a World Renew partner.
Saban often wondered what she was gaining from all her hard work. Her husband had migrated to the city in search of income, while she spent every day trying to grow enough food to feed their children.
Years earlier, Saban experienced a serious illness. Christian visitors to her village prayed for her and, as she recalls, “it was like a miracle. I felt better.” Although she considered attending the local church, she felt she could not spare the time.
Agriculture Skills Create New Opportunities
Years later, Saban joined agricultural training offered through World Renew and its local partner, KADRA. There she learned more effective ways to grow vegetables, along with skills for raising and selling chickens.
These new agriculture skills significantly increased her family’s income. As their financial situation improved, Saban’s husband was able to return home, allowing the family to find a healthier balance between work and home life.
Growing in Faith and Family Life
With greater stability and more time available, Saban was able to become involved in her local church community.
“I could find time to go to church regularly,” she says. “My new agriculture skills allowed me time for agriculture and life. I truly believe that Jesus is alive because he sent KADRA to help me and my family.”
World Renew remains committed to strengthening food security and sustainable livelihoods for families around the world. Through local partnerships, agricultural training, and community-based support, families like Saban’s can build resilience, improve their incomes, and create lasting hope for the future.
