When you complete a form on our website, you will be required to provide us with your first name, last name, email address, and country location. We collect this information so we can respond to your request appropriately and address you as a part of our community. Submitting subscription and contact forms are optional but allow us to connect with you about our work and mission.

To ensure privacy and security, your information is only accessible by select trained staff. Often, data is anonymized and evaluated alongside other data sets to help us provide an optimized digital experience for all users. Your data will be stored in secured, encrypted databases.
We do not provide, sell, or rent email addresses or postal addresses to anyone outside the official operations of the organization. Exceptions would be made only to comply with the law or a request by a law enforcement agency; we may release all collected information to the proper authorities.
In the unlikely event of a data breach, we have a plan in place to inform users what data was compromised and to inform them what steps occur next.
You may request us to delete your personal information through our Data Subject Access Request Form. We will respond to and, where applicable, fulfill such requests without undue delay and in accordance with applicable law, but not to exceed a one-month period. The majority of our data is stored within Microsoft’s servers, primarily located in the United States. All data is available for analysis in both Canada and the United States by trained staff exclusively. At times, some data may be held within the Google ecosystem, including Google Analytics and Google Ads.
We will keep your data for 14 months to ensure we can best alert you to future humanitarian emergencies and opportunities to assist. This timeline aligns with Google’s standard practices. Data retention allows us to look for trends and inefficiencies to better enhance your experience with us in the future.
If you wish for your data to be deleted sooner, please send your request to digital@worldrenew.org or submit our Data Subject Access Request Form. We will ensure your information is removed and suppressed from our systems within a one-month period.
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse. These measures may include access controls, password policies, encryption where appropriate, secure data storage, regular software update, security monitoring, staff awareness training, and restricted access to personal information on a need-to-know basis. We periodically review and enhance our security practices to address evolving threats and vulnerabilities.

Because we are committed to safeguarding personal information and taking additional care towards minors, we will not collect or store information of children aged 13 or below without parental consent. Per international standards, the age of meaningful consent has been set to 14 years of age. We are also committed to not soliciting minors under the age of 18.
Parents, because it is unlawful to collect information from children aged 13 and under, we will be happy to remove any information that may have been collected from your child. Please contact digital@worldrenew.org if you would like data removed.
Children under the age of 14, please ask for your parent or guardian permission before filling out any of our forms.
We are committed to continuous improvement in how we steward data, ensuring our practices reflect both regulatory requirements and our organizational values of stewardship and integrity.
Per our organizational policy, this document will be reviewed every 3 years. If changes are made to our standards, users will be made aware of updates and additions through email communications.
