About World Renew

Rooted in Christian faith and compassion, we join together with families worldwide to end poverty and respond to disasters. For more than 60 years, people like you have helped carry this mission forward.

What is World Renew?

World Renew is a global, faith-based humanitarian organization that joins families and  communities as they overcome poverty, recover from disaster, and pursue lasting change.

Together with local partners and churches, we work to carry out holistic, community-led  programs focused on disaster response, food security, health, and economic livelihoods,  facilitating Biblical justice in more than 30 countries.

Yes, World Renew is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the United States (tax  ID EIN number: 38-1708140) and a registered Canadian charity (Charitable Registration  Number: 118857366 RR 0001).

Yes, World Renew is a Christian organization. Founded by the Christian Reformed Church  in North America (CRCNA), the gospel of Jesus Christ informs and motivates every aspect of our work today.

Faith is one of our core values at World Renew. Compelled by God’s deep passion for  justice and mercy, we join communities around the world to renew hope, reconcile lives,  and restore creation.

Our Approach

Inspired by our Christian faith and driven by compassion, we respond to disasters, support long-term community development, and walk alongside families as they build a better future.

How does World Renew work?

Our leading approach to development work is community-led, holistic, and creates lasting  change for families around the globe. You can learn more about our process by visiting our How We Work page.

World Renew is active in more than 30 countries around the globe, bringing transformation  through our programs in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and North America. Learn more and  see where we’re making a difference by visiting our Where We Work page.

Partnerships are central to our approach. We collaborate with local organizations and  community groups that understand the context, culture, and needs of their communities.  World Renew provides funding, training, and support while partners design and implement  solutions that are locally driven, effective, and sustainable.

We measure impact by tracking both immediate results and long-term changes in the  communities we serve. Our Monitoring, Evaluation, Assessment, and Learning (MEAL)  structure equips local partners and staff to collect and analyze program data to improve  future work, and we prioritize community feedback to ensure programs meet real needs  and create meaningful impact.

World Renew is committed to accountability, and we have been certified according to the Core Humanitarian Standard through our safeguarding policies, complaints processes,  and honest reporting of community-led program outcomes. We encourage all our staff and  partners to strive to continually improve the quality and accountability of our work.

People who participate in World Renew programs are not required to share the same faith.  World Renew is motivated by our Christian faith to serve all people compassionately and  equitably, regardless of belief or background.

Gift Catalogue

Explore gifts that create lasting hope around the world. Understand how giving works, how to receive acknowledgements, and what is included in the Gift Catalogue.

What is the World Renew Gift Catalogue?

The World Renew Gift Catalogue includes a variety of gifts that directly support families experiencing poverty. When you donate gifts like chickens, bicycles, water filters, or farming tools, you’re helping people build brighter futures.

By purchasing gifts through the World Renew Gift Catalogue, you help provide tangible items like livestock, tools for farming, nutrition kits, and more for families and communities as they journey out of poverty and move forward with hope.
Gifts can be purchased through the online catalogue, by phone, or through the order form in our print catalogue.

Yes, you will receive a receipt after you purchase a gift. You can also choose to send an acknowledgement card to a loved one if you are making a gift on their behalf.

All gifts in our catalogue are purchased in the country where they will be used, supporting local businesses and economies. By sourcing gifts this way, we also reduce the environmental footprint from transporting gifts in North America to their destinations.

Although you can’t choose where your specific gift will go, you can be assured that your gift will directly support a family experiencing poverty. Our country teams work closely with people in the communities we serve to understand their specific needs and determine where your gifts can make the biggest impact. If World Renew receives more contributions for a given fund than we can use, we apply those funds to similar projects or programs.

Gifts from the World Renew Gift Catalogue are not designated to specific people or families. Our country teams and local partners work to determine where your gifts will make the greatest impact in the communities we serve.

If you’re giving a gift in someone else’s honour, a gift acknowledgement card lets your loved one know you’ve purchased a gift on their behalf. You can access digital or print-at home cards from our Resources page, or you can request cards through the order form in the print catalogue.
