In the early hours of June 24, two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela, shaking densely populated communities, including the capital city of Caracas.
Many families are now facing displacement, limited access to clean water and sanitation, and fear as aftershocks continue. Efforts to reach survivors in the rubble are ongoing. Health services are strained, and the risk of disease is rising.
World Renew is preparing to respond in close partnership with local organizations and communities. Our International Disaster Response team is actively monitoring the situation and will respond based on the greatest needs identified on the ground.
As needs continue to unfold, support may include emergency shelter, clean water and sanitation, hygiene supplies, medical assistance, food support, and mental health care for those carrying the trauma of this disaster.
Your gift helps make a timely response possible as opportunities to provide assistance emerge.
Canadians, from now until July 14, your gift goes further! As a member of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, we’ve joined the Humanitarian Coalition’s appeal, allowing your donation to be matched 1:1 by the Canadian Government, up to $2 million.
