A new Ebola outbreak has been confirmed along the border of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). World Renew is responding to help prevent further spread in communities along the Uganda–DRC border, where people are already facing mass displacement, poverty, and fragile health systems. 

In this high-risk region, frequent cross-border movement and limited healthcare infrastructure mean the virus can spread quickly without rapid, coordinated health efforts. World Renew is working with trusted local church and community partners to launch an urgent prevention and early detection response.

Donations will equip churches and local leaders to share urgent Ebola prevention messaging, launch public awareness campaigns through radio, schools, and community gatherings, provide handwashing stations and hygiene support in high-traffic areas, train community volunteers to identify and refer suspected cases quickly, and strengthen local monitoring to help stop transmission early.
