World Renew participated in the 2026 All Ontario Youth Convention (AOYC) held at Wilfrid Laurier University, joining approximately 630 attendees at one of the largest gatherings of Christian youth in Ontario.
The annual convention brings together young people for worship, leadership development, and learning, while creating opportunities to reflect on how faith can be lived out in local communities and in a global context.
As part of its presence at AOYC, World Renew highlighted its Great Goat Giving Challenge, an initiative designed to raise awareness about food security and sustainable livelihoods. The organization engaged participants through a variety of activities, including an interactive booth, stage presentations, breakout sessions, and themed trivia. A campus-wide 3D-printed goat hunt further encouraged participation and engagement among attendees.
While the activities were designed to be accessible and engaging, they also introduced participants to the broader impact of livestock programming. World Renew emphasized how assets such as goats can contribute to improved nutrition, income generation, and long-term resilience for families in vulnerable communities.
Victoria Redding, who represented World Renew at the event, reflected on the experience and its connection to her previous work on campus. “Being at Laurier’s Waterloo campus brought back so many memories of my time training student ambassadors to inspire high school students to live lives of leadership and purpose through Laurier’s academic programs,” she said.

“Six years later, I was back on campus doing something similar while representing World Renew. Chidi Nwene and I brought the good news of goats and global community development to more than 600 high school students, inspiring them to believe that hope and generosity can change the world.”
The initiative provided an entry point for youth to explore issues of global poverty, development, and justice, while considering practical ways to respond through faith-informed action. Participation in AOYC 2026 reflects World Renew’s ongoing commitment to equipping young people to engage with global issues and to support community-led solutions that foster sustainable development.
