Giving Tuesday is a worldwide day of generous giving that invites people everywhere to come together in support of meaningful change. Each year, World Renew participates in this global movement by inviting supporters to give toward the areas of greatest need and opportunity—responding to where God is calling us to act at that moment.

In 2021, Giving Tuesday took on a special expression through World Renew’s Gift Catalogue, as supporters chose tangible gifts that helped families working to overcome poverty. These included animals, nutrition kits, and handwashing stations—items that supported food security, improved health, and restored dignity for communities around the world.

A Special Giving Tuesday for Canadian Churches (2021)

Giving Tuesday 2021 was particularly meaningful for Canadian churches. Congregations across the country partnered with World Renew to send nearly 1,400 animals and a wide range of food and health items to families in need over the coming year.

In encouraging their congregations to serve the Lord and his kingdom together, churches such as West End CRC, The Bridge, and Willoughby CRC embodied generosity and partnership—bringing hope to communities far beyond their own borders.

While this initiative reflects one specific Giving Tuesday, it also tells a bigger story: churches and supporters returning year after year to participate in Giving Tuesday, responding to changing opportunities to serve.

Church Support and Shared Mission

West End CRC in Edmonton, Alberta, and The Bridge in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta partnered to raise 200 Friendship Packs through World Renew’s Gift Catalogue during their 2021 Giving Tuesday efforts. These packs helped provide 800 chickens and 200 goats to families in Asia and Africa—supporting income generation, nutrition, and improved quality of life.

“We chose to focus on Friendship Packs this Christmas season as a symbol of the growing friendship and partnership between West End CRC and the Bridge Church in Ft. Saskatchewan. We also know that choosing animals would appeal to a broad range of folks, especially kids. A $78.00 Friendship Pack that includes a goat and four chickens is an affordable gift that many would like to give, and so many are happy to receive.” — Margo DeMoor, West End CRC

Willoughby CRC in Langley Township, British Columbia also took part in Giving Tuesday 2021 by sending Bundles of Hope. These bundles included a combination of livestock, a nutrition kit, a handwashing station, a family‑sized water filter, a bushel of rice, and additional funds directed where needs were greatest.

This Giving Tuesday initiative reflected World Renew’s holistic approach—meeting immediate needs while supporting longer‑term resilience and opportunity.

An Ongoing Invitation to Participate

What took place in 2021 was one expression of a continuing commitment. Every Giving Tuesday, World Renew invites supporters to join a global community of generosity—giving toward the places where resources can make the greatest impact that year.

Campaign priorities may look different from one year to the next, but the heart remains the same: walking alongside communities, responding to urgent needs, and supporting lasting change through hope‑filled generosity.

Giving as an Expression of Hope

The holiday season reminds us of hope as loved ones gather, gratitude is shared, and generosity flows as a response to the ultimate gift we have received: salvation through Jesus Christ. Giving Tuesday offers a meaningful opportunity to live out that hope—together.

Whether you are part of a church, a long‑time supporter, or someone discovering Giving Tuesday for the first time, you are invited to participate in World Renew’s ongoing Giving Tuesday efforts by supporting our current Giving Tuesday campaign and the work God is doing around the world.
