Hi friends! It’s me, Iggy the iguana!
Making a difference can be something you do together—and it can be fun, too. If you want to support families experiencing poverty and hunger and go beyond giving a gift from the World Renew Gift Catalogue, fundraising is a great way to take your impact further. Gather your friends, get creative, and try one of these ideas to get started.
Getting Started is Easy
- Share your Gift Catalogue with a friend or they can visit worldrenew.org/shop.
- Ask your teacher, church leader, or another grown-up you know to help organize a fundraiser.
FUNdraising Tips
- Team up with classmates, friends, family, club, or group to give a meaningful gift—like a bundle, a barnyard, or another item from the World Renew Gift Catalogue.
- Keep a few catalogues (or the online version) handy so people can learn more—an adult can help you connect with World Renew if you need extra copies.
- Most importantly: have FUN! The best fundraisers are the ones people enjoy being part of.
FUNdraising Ideas
Here are some ideas young people like you have tried—with a little help and planning from parents, teachers, or group leaders:
🐾 Animal Parade Scavenger Hunt
Gather your friends, classmates, or neighbours and host a scavenger hunt in a park, backyard, neighbourhood, or even at a local farm if one is nearby. Create a fun list of items to find or simple challenges to complete together along the way.
Add an animal theme by dressing up in costumes, wearing fun shirts, or using face paint. Imagine exploring as a rabbit, duck, or pig as you search—it’s a great way to get moving, work as a team, and make your fundraising creative and fun!
💧 Water Walk Challenge
Around the world, many children walk long distances—sometimes up to 6 kilometres / 3.8 miles—to collect water for their families. This daily journey can take hours and make it harder to attend school, play, or rest.
Try a Water Walk Challenge to see how far you and your friends can go while safely carrying water. Use small buckets or bottles and take breaks along the way. Invite family and friends to pledge donations, cheer you on, and bring clean water to families in need.
🐖 Fill-Up-on-Chores Challenge
Create simple piggy banks using mason jars and colourful craft supplies, then place one in each classroom or group space. You can decorate them with paper, paint, or fun designs to make each one unique.
Challenge teams to see who can fill their jar first—or raise the most funds over time! Kids can earn donations by doing chores like raking leaves, washing cars, helping with dishes, or pitching in around their neighbourhood. It’s a fun way to work together, learn new skills, and watch your small efforts add up to something big.
Ready for the next step?
Whatever you choose to do, remember: generosity grows when it’s shared—and when it’s fun! The money you raise can help give families food, clean water, and the chance for a better future.
