ALERT: Help families recover from Venezuela’s earthquake | GIVE NOW
When disasters upend lives, recovery doesn’t happen overnight. World Renew’s Disaster Response Services (DRS) team walks alongside disaster-impacted communities long after the storm passes—repairing homes, restoring stability, and renewing hope for a stronger future.

Alongside with our volunteers and partner networks, World Renew DRS arrive on the ground to serve communities after the initial impact of a disaster, helping the most vulnerable survivors rebuild their lives and gain long-term stability.
When a disaster strikes, we closely monitor the situation and collaborate with churches and partners to determine how to respond.
Following a disaster, our volunteers arrive on the ground to muck out flooded homes, remove downed trees, complete repairs, and tarp roofs.
Next, our volunteers conduct community surveys to determine the long-term recovery needs of vulnerable survivors.
Strengthening In the months and years after a disaster, we continue to help communities become more resilient for the long term.
We are actively working with vulnerable communities across the United States to repair homes and rebuild lives.
In March 2026, severe storms and tornadoes tore through southwest Michigan. World Renew is monitoring the situation and is prepared to send volunteer support alongside local partners.
In December 2025, heavy rains in the Pacific Northwest brought flooding and destruction. World Renew is responding to vulnerable families in Whatcom Valley with needs assessments, clean ups, and rebuilding projects.
In January 2025, wildfires swept through southern California. World Renew has responded with volunteer efforts to clean out the homes of vulnerable families.
`Our partnerships with local long-term recovery organizations help strengthen their capacity, creating a strong network that can respond effectively to the local community’s needs.
We also partner with churches and their volunteer networks, such as the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA), the Reformed Church in America (RCA), the Alliance of Reformed Churches (ARC), and the ECO Presbyterian Church, so that we can provide the right support at the right time to communities affected by disaster.
In 2025, the American Red Cross awarded DRS a grant to fully fund our Restoring Homes and Hope in Florida project. This partnership will help repair 84 damaged homes for those still displaced after Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024.
The United Way of South Sarasota County is a local partner in Southwest Florida. For three years, they have been the area’s leading recovery agency, connecting disaster survivors to resources and recovery tools, including home repairs through DRS.
One of DRS’ long-standing recovery partners. In the hard-hit region of eastern North Carolina, their staff remain committed to assisting homeowners with recovery from hurricanes, floods, and even tornadoes.
During back-to-back flood events in Northwest Washington, Whatcom Long Term Recovery Group has been the county’s leading recovery agency for flood-affected families. This partnership supports disaster case management, including home repairs provided by DRS volunteer teams.
Leading the area’s responses to repetitive flood events in 2021 and 2025, DRS provided grant funding to support the coalition’s staffing and to provide new furniture and appliances for impacted homeowners.
